Introduction to Language Structure (P00267)

Overview of the key concepts and methods in the analysis of language as an abstract phonological, morphological, syntactic and semantic system. Although the focus is on English, a wide range of language types are examined.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

Quickly and accurately describe and analyse how various facets of the grammar of a language are structured. Be able to apply such analysis to applied linguistic problems, such as those involved in language teaching and learning.
