Early Irish Texts 3 (P00402)? Credit Points : 20 ? SCQF Level : 11 ? Acronym : LLC-P-P00402 Early Irish Texts 3 is designed to enable students who have completed at least one year of Early Irish to maintain and develop their familiarity with the language, to enhance students' text-reading abilities, including dictionary skills, to develop students' confidence in reading texts in both edited and manuscript form, to widen students' acquaintance with Early Irish literature, including the literature of the Middle Irish period, and texts from outwith the main genres of literature, and to read texts of interest and relevance to students' special subjects and dissertations. Entry Requirements? Pre-requisites : Early Irish Texts 1 and 2 or other previous training in Early Irish. This course develops students' awareness of the pronunciation, grammar and syntax of Early Irish, and trains them to read more complex and challenging Early Irish texts, including edited texts without glossaries.
