Specific Learning Difficulties: Dyslexia (P00560)? Credit Points : 20 ? SCQF Level : 11 ? Acronym : EDU-P-P00560 This module introduces the concept of specific learning difficulties as an umbrella term to cover a range of specific difficulties. The module then examines issues relating to the specific learning difficulty of Dyslexia. It is important that professionals are aware of recent research in this area and of the nature of difficulties experienced by dyslexic students. The module therefore seeks to broaden awareness of perspectives thus enabling teachers to identify and support young people with this specific learning difficulty. The process of assessment is of critical importance in ensuring appropriate support for dyslexic pupils. This module will therefore provide theoretical knowledge and practical competence in assessment thus enabling participants to critically examine and apply this knowledge.
