The text to be read is 2 Samuel 15-24. The aims of the course are to consolidate reading of literary classical Hebrew, both prose and poetry; and to gain experience of textual history.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

Familiarity with the text of 2 Samuel 15-24 in MT and qumran witnesses. Familiarity with differences between 2 Sam 22 and Psalm 18. A deeper undertstanding of the interpretation of the books of Samuel

Assessment Information

Students will be assessed on their leadership of and participation in class (20% of the total); by a class essay on a topic and selected with the permission of the class teacher (30% of the total); and by an end of semester examination (50% of the total)
