Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

Initiate and critically appraise strategies designed to identify, apply and disseminate government reports, policies and legislation in clinical practice.
Evaluate the legal accountability of the healthcare professional in common situations related to acute care nursing including sudden/violent death.
Critically evaluate the ethos of the critical care environment from an ethical and humanitarian perspective.
Critically analyse her/his role and responsibilities in the creation of an environment in which clinical practice development is fostered, evaluated and disseminated within a multi-disciplinary context.
Appraise specialist learning activities in the critical care setting that contribute to clinical teaching and the assessment of learning in a multidisciplinary environment.
Critically appraise strategies to improve health and prevent disease in individuals and groups.
