Methodology Seminars in Classics (P00636)? Credit Points : 20 ? SCQF Level : 11 ? Acronym : HCA-P-P00636 The course provides new MSc students and first year-PhD students with an introduction to a variety of approaches in current research in Classics. New postgraduate students in their first semester of study will benefit from a series of seminars which will provide them with a broad basis of approaches and methods; these can be used for their own specific research projects. Students will also be able to gain an introduction to the different methods and approaches in the variety of subjects covered by Classics such as Archaeology and Art, Ancient History and the Literature of Greek and Latin. An understanding of the diversity of methodological and theoretical approaches in the study of the various subjects under Classics.
An ability to undertake research using resources such as library, archives, museums, computers and the internet. An awareness of how different types of sources and methods can be combined to address research in Classics. Ability to express orally ideas and present research outcomes in seminars.
