Action Research (P00761)

This module offers course members the opportunity to undertake a critical in-depth study of the conceptual frameworks underlying action research. The concepts, principles and procedures of action research will be explored; and course members will be expected to reflect critically on their own experience and to apply ideas of action research to their own context.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

- Articulate and critically appraise concepts, principles and procedures underpinning action research
- Critically review their own professional experience and identify an area of legitimate professional concern
- Undertake a small-scale action research investigation into an identified area of concern
- Present a research report on the action research investigation

Assessment Information

A 5000 word assignment in the form of a report on the research investigation undertaken and a critique of action research.
