Acronym : EDU-P-P00764 This course provides a critical understanding of the area of literacy and dyslexia, examining the terminology and controversies that exist in relation to identifying needs of learners who have difficulty in literacy development. The course will involve an analysis of identification and assessment procedures and the barriers to learning experienced by children who have literacy difficulties. Course members will have a critical understanding of the different perspectives held by professionals and parents in the field of dyslexia and be competent in the understanding and the use of a range of strategies to assess children with difficulties in literacy.
Assessment Information
Course members will need to demonstrate a critical understanding of the debates and issues relating to identification and assessment in relation to difficulties in literacy development and how barriers to learning can be identified.
