Literacy and Dyslexia: Curriculum Access: Planning for Students Learning (P00766)

This course provides a critical understanding of the area of literacy and dyslexia, examining the range of pedagogic approaches that can deal with difficulties in literacy development. There will be an emphasis on critical reflection on policy, practice and provision in the area and this will be highlighted through a practitioner research project

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

Course members will have a critical understanding of the different perspectives held by professionals in intervention to deal with literacy difficulties. Students will recognise the needs of the individual and of the school through critical reflection and through a small scale research project.


Assessment Information

Course members will need to demonstrate a critical understanding of the learning plans and programmes and be able to demonstrate research skills in this area through the development and implementation of a practitioner reseaarch project.
