Role of Complementary Therapies in Nursing (P01069)

The course will examine the potential benefits of Complementary approaches to both physical and psychological well being. Complementary therapies employed by all members of the multi-disciplinary team will be explored. Approaches taken will seek to reflect the growing use of these therapies in nursing.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

Students will:
- Understand the role of all health care members of the multidisciplinary team in relation to the use of Complementary therapies.
- Explore pertinent clinical issues in both mental health and adult branch nursing in relation to the use of Complementary therapies.
- Have a critical appreciation of evidence-based practice of Complementary therapies
