Acronym : HCA-P-InOcCoRe This course is an integral component of the taught MSc degree programme, The Second World War in Europe (History). Its constituents are: the various invasions of neighbouring countries by Italy, Germany, the Soviet Union and the Allies; the occupation policies of these invading powers and how they affected the native populations of various countries, including France, The Netherlands, Poland, the Soviet Union, Yugoslavia and Germany; the extent and nature of collaboration by natives with occupying powers; the extent and nature of resistance on the part of natives to occupying powers. Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
Students will acquire an in-depth knowledge of the subject matter of these subjects. In particular, they will acquire a facility for dealing with comparative history.
