Methods and Sources in First Millennium Studies (P01829)? Credit Points : 20 ? SCQF Level : 11 ? Acronym : HCA-P-P01829 The course seeks to provide a critical overview of a range of different sources of information studied by scholars of the first millennium, and the different methodological issues and approaches involved in their study. It is taught by a team of scholars with different disciplinary backgrounds, based both within and outwith History and Classics. Students will learn how to evaluate critically first-millennium sources of information studied by scholars of the first millennium, and will appreciate the importance of methodology as an element of scholarship.
Assessment Information
An essay of 2000-3000 words on an approved topic, counting as 100% of the final course mark.
