Politics of Care (P01846)

? Credit Points : 10  ? SCQF Level : 11  ? Acronym : HEA-P-PoC

The term 'politics' used here reflects the dictionary meaning of 'astutely contriving or intriguing'. The focus is on the relationships between the various individuals and groups in the health care scenario as they seek to achieve the ends which are of importance to each of them. When an example is necessary, childbearing and maternity will be used. Attention will be given to the various participants in the person's experience of healthcare. The context will comprise the variety of settings which feature in the literature on health care. This experience will be interpreted as widely as possible in order to include a wide range of experiences and issues.
