Advanced Gaelic: Translating Technical Prose (P01890)? Credit Points : 20 ? SCQF Level : 11 ? Acronym : LLC-P-P01890 The Module will involve students in an examination of how technical prose (eg. linguistic, sociological, legal, administrative) has been received into Gaelic, and the practical and theoretical issues surrounding its translation. Entry Requirements? Pre-requisites : Successful completion of an Honours degree programme in Scottish Gaelic language/literature. Students will emerge from the course with an understanding of the challenges of translating technical prose into Gaelic, and some practical experience of surmounting those challenges.
Assessment Information
A written assignment of 2000-3000 words, counting as 100% of the final course mark.
