Group Work & Structured Treatment Approaches (P01916)? Credit Points : 20 ? SCQF Level : 11 ? Acronym : HEA-P-GW&STA This course is focused on training students in promoting resilience and coping skills by using behavioural and congitive approaches to promote mental health and well being as well as clinical intervention in a problem cycle. For example; self-control and coping strategies, problem solving approaches to stress and anxiety management, social skills developemnt. Studies will further be taught in the theoretical basis for the formation and continuation of clinical groups, and the knowledge of group dynamics and the management of groups. Entry Requirements? 1) Administer and evaluate available packages of short term treatment interventions 2) Apply theory and methods of positive parenting 3) Assess the suitability for a group intervention 4) Manage and organise a group 5) Relate to children and young people individually in the group and to promote group coherence Assessment Information
