Promotion of Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing (P01917)

This course is focused on models of health promotion and maintenance of emotional wellbeing. This will encompass public health models and methods of health promotion on an individual and systemic level as well as methods of self help and self directed interventions.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

Students will be competent:
1) In the critical appraisal and application of social and emotional factors in the development of problems in childhood and adolescents
2) To apply their knowledge of key factors in the development of resilience and the promotion of mental health and wellbeing
3) Apply their knowledge of self help methods and tools on an individual or group basis
