Acronym : HCA-P-CTIH This obligatory course introduces students to important methods and themes in intellectual history. For example, it will explore the relationship between text and context, and the role of reception in the development of ideas. It will examine the contributions made to the discipline by the Cambridge School, anthropological theory, Begriffsgeschichte, and by ancient and Islamic exegesis. It will also consider certain key objects of intellectual history, such as the Enlightenment. The course will be taught in weekly seminars by various scholars. ?
