Research Project for PG Certificate in Democracy and Public Policy (P02415)

Students will work on an individually designed research
project with the aim of bringing scholarly analysis to bear on a policy
issue. The subject will normally relate to the internship with an
organisation involved in public policy and administration in Scotland that
each student will be placed in during the course.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

By the end of the project students will

* Have applied scholarly knowledge in an original manner to a practical
issue in public policy and administration in Scotland
* Have developed and/or refreshed skills in research and analysis including
accessing and synthesising a range of sources and presenting a substantial
and sustained argument
* Have developed a capacity for comparison across problems and issues in
public policy and administration in Scotland and in their home countries
