Japan as a Model for Emerging Markets (P02453)

? Credit Points : 10  ? SCQF Level : 11  ? Acronym : MSE-P-JMEM

The course provides a simple and direct method of research that enables foreign investors to evaluate the conditions of emerging markets in Asia that are highly regulated by government. Although cultural differences with Japan may appear to outnumber the similarities, Japan can be used effectively as a model for investigating these markets where unfamiliar languages and bureaucratic red tape tend to hamper the access of data and where reality is often obscured by a positive image generated by both government and media.
