Current Issues in Social Anthropology (SA0060)

? Credit Points : 20  ? SCQF Level : 11  ? Acronym : SPS-P-SACIA

WAR and CULTURE invites students who are interested in connecting the sphere of intimate social life to that of abstract political discourse and scrutinizing the latter in the light of concrete human actions taking place in the former. Those who join the course will be encouraged to extend this interest to thinking about ways to reconcile some of the contradictions, moral as well as analytical, existing between our attitudes to premodern warfare and those to modern war.
