The main aims of the course are:

• To alert students to the different meanings of ‘access to justice’ and the different ways in which the concept has been used

• To explore how social policies with respect to socio-legal issues, and especially dispute resolution, are initiated and implemented

• To consider what further measures are required to promote “access to justice”
