The exploration will be grounded in practice and policy examples, to illuminate their assumptions and potential impact. By the end of the course and independent study, students should:
- Know and be able to provide a critical evaluation a range of conceptual frameworks of 'childhood', 'child development' and 'children's rights', across academic disciplines - Know and be able to discuss critically the key principles of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child - Have experience in evaluating particular areas of legislation, policy and practice that affect children - Have participated in group discussions and been involved in active group learning - Gained experience in accessing and critically analysing policy documents and reports, including web resources Assessment Information
