An intensive course in spoken and written Danish for those with no previous knowledfge of the language. Introduction to modern Danish literature and civilisation with selected texts.

Entry Requirements

? Pre-requisites : A pass in Higher Grade (SCE) in a modern or classical language, or equivalent evidence of linguistic proficiency.

? Prohibited combinations : Course cannot be taken in conjunction with Norwegian or Swedish

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

To Provide a frim grounding in the Danish language and an introduction to literary and cultural issues.

Assessment Information

3 assessments (Civilization, languages, literature); 1 oral assessment; 1 two-hour class exam. Class exam 10%, continuous assessment 50%, oral exam 10%, degree exam 30%.
