Social Stratification (SY0017)? Credit Points : 20 ? SCQF Level : 10 ? Acronym : SPS-3-SYSTRAT The concepts of social class, stratification and inequality are crucial for the sociological project. At the same time, class, stratification and inequality represent central social and political issues at the national and European level. This course investigates how social stratification has been conceptualized in the sociological tradition and the place it occupies in contemporary sociological theory and research. It also examines the intersection between stratification, globalization processes, and European integration. We will analyze various forms of social stratification and the dynamic of group and class relationships.
