German 2: Literature and Society (U00002)

The study of German literary texts with special emphasis on the theme of social change.

Entry Requirements

? Pre-requisites : Pass in German 1A or 1B

? Co-requisites : May not be taken independently of German 2 (UO2352).

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

-To build on progress made in the first year literary part of the course, deepening students' knowledge of German literary culture .
-To develop contextualisation skills learned in 1B, through focusing on reading literature in its social and/or political context
-Practising analytical skills to bridge the gap and to equip students to make eventual choices for the more specialised option courses offered in 4th year.
