Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of the course, students will:
(a) have a basic grasp of non-quantitative sociolinguistic issues as they relate to English (b) have developed their knowledge of relevant sociolinguistic terminology (c) have come to an understanding of the relationship between language and culture (d) have an understanding of the application of the above to English in a range of social contexts Assessment Information
The course will be assessed by 2 essays of 2,000 words each, worth 50% each.
