Acronym : LLC-4-PrDis The aim of this course is to provide Russian Studies Honours students with an intellectual perspective on the discipline of translation studies, with the particular emphasis on the Russian-English translation. It will introduce some key concepts of translation studies, develop students' understanding of a variety of issues connected with translation and broaden the scope of their expertise in the Russian language. Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course students should be able to use their practical translation and interpreting skills and critically evaluate translations of different genres, including literary translation.
The course will help students acquire and develop important transferable skills such as writing commentaries and essays, improving analytical thought, good use of electronic resources, use of Cyrillic keyboard etc. Assessment Information
