Architectural Design Option 1 (U00739)? Credit Points : 40 ? SCQF Level : 10 ? Acronym : ACE-3-ADOption1 This course is focussed on developing students' familiarity with different approaches to architectural design. It is a studio-based course in which students are asked to develop specific approaches to specific design problems. The set design problems change from year to year but will normally allow for an experimental approach to the process of inquiry in architectural design. Entry Requirements? This course is not available to visting students. ? Pre-requisites : Entry to Honours in Architectural Design, or Architectural Studies (4th year only), or as agreed with the Head of Subject area as part of a BA Humanities and Social Science curriculum ? Co-requisites : For Architectural Design Students: Technology & Environment 3 Architectural Design Theory Architectural Design Placement (Working Learning) ? Prohibited combinations : This course can only be taken by students enrolled in the MA (hons) Architectural Design degree or 4th year students in the MA (hons) Architectural Studies degree. ? To engage in a critical discussion of architecture by means of written, verbal and drawn presentations To explore and experiment with different architectural design approaches.
