Acronym : ACE-4-MRecital The work of the year is intended to prepare students to offer publicly, by May of the session, a well-balanced recital programme of 40 minutes' duration; diploma standard is expected. An essay which considers performance-related issues, reception history, and any other information relevant to the programme being presented, is also required, as are programme notes. ? Keywords : recital music performance Entry Requirements? This course is not available to visting students. ? Pre-requisites : Performance Practice ? Prohibited combinations : This course is not available to students on the BA Humanities and Social Science. ? Costs : Recital students are reimbursed by the University to a maximum of £600 for tuition fees; costs of lessons in excess of this sum have to be paid by the student. To prepare the student to present a professional performance before the public, and to learn how to communicate music to an audience.
Assessment Information
One 40 minute recital performance (75%) one essay c.3,000 words on performance issues relevant to the recital (20%) programme notes (5%).
