Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

- Students will understand the MIDI protocol.
- They will understand various MIDI devices, in particular hardware and software for synthesis and sampling.
- They will operate a sequencing application with technical and aesthetic success.

Assessment Information

One creative project (100%) including a written project report of 1,500 to 2,000 words.

N.B. The assessment will involve a compulsory ten-minute presentation to the examiners by each student, the times for which will be arranged individually and in advance. The presentation is not, however, part of the assessment, rather it takes place merely to expediate access to computer software configurations that are otherwise difficult to document.
