The Third Reich: Society, Politics, Economy (U01259)? Credit Points : 20 ? SCQF Level : 10 ? Acronym : HCA-3-TR The course considers twelve themes relating to the domestic history of the Third Reich: the Nazi consolidation of power; racial and gender politics; law, terror and the police state; propaganda and culture; 'autarky', production and consumption; workers and the German Labour Front; education and the professions; the Christian churches and Nazism; the home front in wartime; German resistance; the 'Final Solution'; a 'totalitarian' state? General students require a pass in European History 1 or its equivalent. Entry Requirements? Pre-requisites : A pass in any first level historical course and any second level historical course or equivalent. One essay of about 3000 words (one third of overall assessment); one two-hour examination paper (two-thirds of overall assessment).
