Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

Building on the knowledge of East Asian history and/or culture acquired through the first year courses to inform a more detailed study of East Asia in the modern period, the course aims to enable students to develop further their skills in use of library and other resources, oral presentation and academic writing.

2 essays of 2000-2500 words (one per semester): 25% each
2-hour class exam on semester 1 work (December) 25%
2-hour degree exam semester 2 work (April/May) 25%
