Arabic Language Acquisition Through Residence/Study (B) (U01862)

This course consists of a semester (minimum eleven weeks) spent abroad studying Arabic language and culture at a university or other approved institution in an Arabic-speaking country.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

Students will improve their knowledge of the four basic skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking in Modern Standard Arabic as well as broaden their familiarity with Arabic and Islamic / Middle Eastern culture.

Assessment Information

There is no formal assessment of the semester abroad. Rather, knowledge of the language and culture studied is assessed via the entire range of 4th year course, especially the specifically language-based ones.
