Acronym : LLC-1-U02152 This course is an introduction to the religious, political, social and cultural history of the Islamic world from 945 to 1258. It covers the break-up of the Abbasid Caliphate into smaller states, the Crusades, and the impact of the nomadic Turkish and Mongol invasions. It examines the Sunni/Shi'ite divisions and the role of jihad in medieval Islamic society. Entry Requirements?
