Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, students should:-
have an understanding of the essentials of Greek and Roman epic;
have met and considered a range of critical approaches;
further their ability to assess and articulate lines of critical enquiry by collecting, synthesising and evaluating different kinds of data from a variety of sources, both primary and secondary;
be able to compare different views and formulate independent and well-argued hypotheses.

Assessment Information

coursework - 40%.
one (2-hour) examination - 60%.
