Acronym : LLC-3-IT0034 This course looks at attempts, by authors from various periods in the Italian narrative tradition, to produce 'total' works where the implied content exceeds the material container. Topics will include framed narratives, combinatorial fictions, theories of unity and multiplicity of plot, allegoresis, and the metaphorics of the baroque and futurist movements. Entry Requirements? Pre-requisites : Entrance to Italian Three (Ordinary). Ordinary students only. ? Co-requisites : This is course is normally taken with Italian 3 Language (U02164) ? Costs : As there are quite a few handouts, set texts being impracticable on a survey course, there will be a charge of £5 to cover the cost of materials.
