Programming real-time MIDI applications in the graphical, object-oriented language MAX, the course will include in-class development of interactive music software and the techniques for the successful implementation of such.

? Costs : DAT tapes, CD-R discs as required.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

Students will write real-time applications for sound synthesis and processing using the MAX programming environment.

They will learn the basic issues of computer interface design.

They will solve general and specific programming problems through the development of algorithms.

They will learn successful, flexible, and reusable programming.

Assessment Information

Two class tests (5% each) and one project (90%)
