Introduction to Design and Digital Media (U03441)

This course introduces some of the techniques used in digital design: three dimensional modelling, simple computer animation, image rendering, and the preparation of material suitable for publishing on the World Wide Web. The course consists of lectures, demonstrations, and practical project work.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

Ability to use applications for modelling, image manipulation, and basic animation. Ability to prepare web content. Ability to engage in a creative task within tightly constrained bounds and to present the outcome to conform to precise specifications. Ability to interpret and apply a set of requirements pertaining to a design task.

2 assignment submissions worth 50% each
