This course is concerned with English-Chinese translation. All the course materials are established English texts. The genres covered are fiction, non-fiction, and media discourse.

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

During the course, knowledge of translation techniques and Chinese usage will be built up gradually, so that students will eventually have the skills required to undertake substantial translation into idiomatic modern Chinese.
