Structural developments; supremacy; direct effect; national remedies and state liability. Evolution of integration; subsidiarity; closer cooperation. EC law and fundamental rights protection. Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
In fulfilling these objectives, the course aims also to consolidate and deepen intellectual, practical and transferable skills involved in the legal research of Community and Union law acquired at Ordinary level.
By the end of the course the students should be able to: demonstrate advanced skills of communication, expression, argumentation and debate acquired via seminar participation; independently produce a piece of research which displays critical understanding, sound analysis and independence of mind, clear and succinct expression of ideas, the ability to pursue an argument with proper care and attention to academic literature; synthesise material from a broad variety of sources; and will have developed research skills: library skills, use of databases and appropriate use of Internet resources.
