Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course students should have:
gained an appreciation of the main chronological and thematic issues in modern Scottish History
developed their ability to engage critically with secondary sources
developed their ability to engage critically with printed primary sources
developed their ability to produce coherent analytical text in essays and exam conditions
understood the importance of working in a tutorial group, including the importance of regular attendance, preparation and contribution.

Assessment Information

2 essays (2500 words each) and one essay/source anlaysis exercise amounting to 50% of final mark. A take home exam in week 12 weighted as 50% of the final mark.
