| Course description |
An introductory course in neuroscience with an emphasis on pharmacological approaches that have furthered our understanding of the nervous system. The course material comprises: synaptic transmission, intracellular signalling mechanisms, the central nervous system, pain and inflammation and disorders of the nervous system resulting from altered receptor function or channelopathies. |

Other requirements |
Where a student has taken Chemical Pharmacology 2 and then transfers to S0301 or S0201 then he/she must take Neuroscience with Pharmacology 2 before taking Pharmacology 3. In this situation the student cannot count both Chemical Pharmacology 2 and Neuroscience with Pharmacology 2 towards graduation.
