Course description The course will aim to explore the emergence of Scandinavian as a separate branch of Germanic, and explain the development of the three modern mainland Scandinavian languages; Danish, Norwegian and Swedish.

Pre-requisites Students MUST have passed: Danish Language 2 (ELCS08008) OR Swedish Language 2 (ELCS08013) OR Norwegian Language 2 (ELCS08011)

The course aims at explaining how changes in language happen, and how this in particular has resulted in the three modern Scandinavian languages.
