Course description |
An integrated course in spoken and written modern Turkish. All the common grammatical
structures are studied, translation done both from and into Turkish, and a basic vocabulary and set
of idioms are built up. Particular attention is paid to oral work. |

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
The student is expected to be able to master grammatical structures, basic translation from and into Turkish, and
acquire a basic vocabulary and set of idioms and some speaking ability. |
Assessment Information
Regular written exercises and occasional class tests will be set and marked (15% of final mark); 1 two-hour
examination plus oral examination at end of first semester (85% of final mark) |
