| Course description |
The course will allow the candidate to analyse and present animal health-related data that they have already collected during the course of work conducted in their home country. Alternatively the candidate may wish to undertake a desk study to explore and develop a theme of relevance to their current working environment, or an areas of interest that have arisen during their period of study on the MSc. |

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
This feature will require a high level of commitment and application from the candidate and provides a valuable exercise in the writing and presentation of information to a standard that engages appropriately with academic conventions in relation to style, tone, structuring and referencing.
As an integral element of the final year the student will complete a course on research methodologies, selecting between "Socioeconomic research methods" or "Biomedical research methods". This is a compulsory, but un-assessed, element that will provide training in the skills required for successful completion of the Dissertation.

Dissertation (10-15,000 words).
The University of Edinburgh's postgraduate common marking scheme will be used (assessment of dissertation component). |
