| Course description |
Scope of OR computational tools: Excel, Xpress, Simul8, SPSS and Java. Excel: data handling, simple LP model and processing of results; limitations. Introduction to Xpress: operations on 1-d and 2-d arrays sum and forall; repeat, while loops over real valued parameters. Reading and writing data, including .csv files as a route to Excel. Use of Xpress minimizer. Java: introduction to common programming concepts (variables, loops, conditional execution, arrays, subroutines), using Java as teaching language. |
