Course description |
This course will consist of alternated laboratory and class sessions that will provide the student with knowledge on the different experimental techniques used in fire safety engineering. The use of standard tests and the application of the results to design will be emphasised. After this course the student should be able to evaluate the results of standard test methods, interpret them and use them with the purpose of performance based design. The student should be able to assess the limitations of these results propose alternative testing methodologies and conduct an adequate error analysis. The student should gain a deeper understanding of the physical and chemical phenomena linked to fire growth. |
