Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
To provide a knowledge of the basic management disciplines of Accounting, Economics, Finance, and Statistics.
To allow the student to discuss with professionals in those fields in a well-informed manner.
To enable the student to question professionals in those fields perceptively, and to see through jargon-filled but vacuous argument from those professionals.
To provide a base for further study in those fields as required in the Option courses.
Through the Integrative Project, to enable students to integrate those disciplines in the analysis of a business situation. |
Assessment Information
Each component will include examinations appropriate to it:
Accounting: a two hour examination in Week 13 of the Semester (100%)
Economics: a two hour examination in Week 13 of the Semester (100%)
Finance: group assignment (25%), individual assignment (25%) and 2 hour examination (50%) in week 13 of the Semester
Statistics: a two hour examination in Week 13 of the Semester (100%)
Integrative Project: Presentation and Report (100%)
Each component will be worth equal marks in the course total. |
