Course description |
An introduction to creative compositional practice including: form, rhythm, harmony, instrumentation and cultural context. The student's own creative work will be developed in individual tutorials. Students are encouraged to make a rigorous exploration of the horizons of their musical experience and interest. |

Pre-requisites |
Visiting students should have at least three Music courses at grade B or above in Music Theory (or be predicted to obtain this). We will only consider University/College level courses. |

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
- Students will demonstrate an understanding of the essentials of creative compositional practice and their context.
- They will demonstrate the development of individual creative skills and musical issues arising from them. |

Two original and contrasting compositions, to be submitted by end of Semester 1 (40%).
