Course description |
An introduction to the creation and performance of electroacoustic music. The course combines applied studio work and electroacoustic music performance praxis with a contextual study of both the historical and aesthetic background of electroacoustic music. Grounding in basic web page creation in HTML will also be given. The numbers admitted to this course are limited. |

Summary of Intended Learning Outcomes
+ Understand the historical and aesthetic contexts of electroacoustic music.
+ Produce creative work in the electroacoustic medium.
+ Operate an electroacoustic music studio with technical confidence and overcome the common technical problems which may present themselves therein.
+ Perform electroacoustic music on a typical multi-loudspeaker diffusion system.
+ Present sound and visual work on the web through a strong grasp of basic HTML. |
Assessment Information
- One electroacoustic composition, not less than 5 minutes in length, presented on audio CD [20%]
- One electroacoustic composition, not less than 10 minutes in length, presented on audio CD [40%]
- Final electroacoustic music performance [20%]
- Individual web-based soundwalk project [20%] |
